Comunicación Digital en 2020
Hola bots, spiders o arañas; ahora, quienes generamos contenidos a través de la web, les escribimos a ustedes, los señores que no tienen forma, pero hacen una lectura pormenorizada de aquello que consideran relevante o no, para ser posicionados en los motores de búsqueda, ojalá en la primera página que visualiza el usuario.
La disciplina de la Comunicación cambió por ustedes y por la época que vivimos actualmente, post inicio de la pandemia del COVID-19, que cambió abruptamente la forma de relacionarnos y de interactuar: antes la relación virtual era una opción, hoy es la primera y en ocasiones la única, con quienes hacemos negocios; mientras que el relacionamiento análogo, de contacto, se ha convertido en un tiempo/espacio de intercambio solo familiar e íntimo, para aquellas personas que pueden hacerlo, sin exponerse a sí y a los suyos, interactuando físicamente con otros, potenciales portadores del virus.
Esta dinámica de relacionamiento a partir del aislamiento preventivo social, cambia por completo el significado de conceptos como entorno social, interacción e interrelación; como quien dice, cambia la Comunicación misma como la conocíamos, a esto, algunos han denominado con simplicidad pasmosa, «la nueva normalidad»; por ello, algunos estudiosos de la Comunicación Organizacional se reunieron para hablar de esta «nueva normalidad».
Futuribles 2020
Durante el Encuentro Online Futuribles 2020, la ponente Amaia Arribas (España) habló de los retos que trae la Cuarta Revolución Industrial, más allá de la tecnología que se expresa también en la ideología de quienes la producen; e indicó que en la actualidad “es necesario analizar los futuribles, es decir, la gran gama de futuros posibles, probables y deseados”.
En este nuevo ecosistema de la Big Data, la Minería de Datos y los nuevos escenarios del entretenimiento; de la libertad aparente y del control permanente; la Comunicación tradicional tiene un nuevo reto de explicar ese nuevo escenario de interacciones, de interrelaciones y de conexiones; que son complejas cuando se piensan entre humanos, pero también, explorando un poco más allá, se pueden empezar a ver desde un nuevo actor, un stakeholder con un único interés: el de la clasificación de los datos y con el poder de premiar o castigar, según sea programado, de acuerdo a los intereses de presentación de contenido de una organización, como Google, por ejemplo: el bot.
Esta nueva dinámica, en la que quienes producen contenidos deben pensarse no solo en atraer al lector, sino en competir por hacerse visibles; ha hecho que una disciplina emerja y se posicione como la gran ganadora de la actualidad: el Marketing Digital, que es, básicamente la promesa de descifrar ese comportamiento, esa programación, que tienen esos bots; para hacer más o menos visible ante el motor de búsqueda un contenido u otro, con parámetros que cambian constantemente.
En realidad, se perciba o no el individuo como un productor de contenido consiente, como lo es un bloggero, un youtuber o un twittero; todos y cada uno producimos a diario millones o billones de bits de información de quienes somos, o mejor aún, los sujetos de interacción en los que con convertimos cuando estamos en frente de una pantalla de cualquier dispositivo, a través de todas nuestras interacciones, de nuestra navegación, de nuestros likes, de nuestros compartidos, de nuestras discusiones con conocidos o desconocidos, por medio, incluso, de agrupaciones de defensa a ultranza de una u otra ideología política, religiosa o deportiva, las que más pasiones desbordadas generan.
Además del Marketing Digital, los científicos de datos son quienes se “roban el show” actualmente y son ellos los profesionales más atractivos para los caza-talentos; pues ellos son quienes generan un salto cuántico a la organización al hacer predictiva de tendencias; es gracias a ellos, que las organizaciones anticipan intereses, interacciones e incluso, sentimientos de sus grupos de interés; y con base en ello, toman decisiones estratégicas.
Para Octavio Islas, director de la Revista Digital Razón y Palabra, quién también participó en uno de los paneles de Futuribles 2020, “el prosumidor, expuesto por Alvin Toffler, tiene hoy más sentido que nunca; con la llegada de nuevos actores digitales que hacen parte de este concepto bisagra proveniente de la Mercadotecnia, como lo son los observadores y conectores; de los que no da cuenta la academia”.
De acuerdo con el investigador, alineado con el economista, Jeremy Rifkin, la Internet se divide en tres grandes grupos, la Internet de la Comunicación, “que es la de Google, Apple, Facebook y Amazon”, como quien dice, la exponente del mayor PIB en la actualidad. Esta Internet es la que nos brinda entornos amigables para que compartamos en ellos nuestros gustos y nuestras interacciones de todo tipo, a través de sus plataformas “seguras”; cuando, en realidad, por hacer uso gratuito de estas, entregamos el derecho de venta de nuestra información al mejor postor, es decir, un comprador de Big Data para fines comerciales. Por ello, cada vez es más absurda la cadena falsa de varias redes sociales como Whatsapp en la que piden seguir unos pasos para que no cobren por el servicio, pues nada es más valioso, ni mejor negocio que la data, actualmente: nunca, bajo el paradigma de relaciones digitales actual, nos cobrarán por hacer uso de una red social masiva.
Islas también habló de la Internet de la Energía, que aloja la información verde y colaborativa, que en realidad es una superautopista eléctrica sostenible, administrada, eso sí, por organizaciones de tecnología de punta y solo en países de alto nivel de desarrollo.
Finalmente indicó que el tercer tipo de Internet es la denominada The long Tail o de logística, que es básicamente la desarrollada para la Internet de las cosas, es decir, la adaptación de la recepción y sobre todo – transmisión – de datos por parte del usuario, a través de dispositivos no tradicionales, como relojes, esferos, lavadoras, aspiradoras, vehículos, etc.
Así, el escenario de complejidad del entorno actual plantea un mundo en el que definitivamente el concepto “realidad virtual” adquiere otros matices, pues ¿quién puede asegurar que no es más real para un individuo en la actualidad sus relaciones físicas cercanas, que las virtuales, en ocasiones más íntimas o satisfactorias emocionalmente? ¿o quién no se ha sentido incómodo por la dispersión de otro(a), conectado(a) en una conversación remota, recortando distancias con quienes están en otro lugar, pero rompiendo la conexión de una conversación con quien está compartiendo espacio físico con él o ella?
El día a día de «la nueva normalidad»
Hoy ese rompimiento de lo físico está más presente en los hogares, pues las dinámicas de quienes pueden permanecer en sus casas también han cambiado. Quien se conecta a su portátil y labora en él, procura aislarse de todo lo que ocurre a su alrededor mientras se concentra en su trabajo, alrededor, las rutinas pueden seguir, pero la persona se aísla de ellas, está en cuerpo, pero no en mente. Se abstrae: es su forma de desdoblarse del cuerpo físico en el siglo XXI.
Y hay momentos en los hogares actuales en los que todos los miembros de la familia tienen algo que hacer conectados: los padres trabajando o capacitándose en adquirir nuevas competencias digitales; y los niños o jóvenes en clase de lo que ellos conocen como virtual, que en realidad, en la mayoría de los casos, es una mala adaptación del modelo presencial a un escenario digital, sin los beneficios comunicativos de interacción que tenía la experiencia de aula, con la comunicación en dos vías, verbal y no verbal, que deja de estar presente cuando el profesor o profesora expone su presentación frente a varias cámaras apagadas de estudiantes que dejan grabada la sesión para más tarde o para después, cuando tengan tiempo, luego de terminar los capítulos de su serie de Netflix favorita, tal vez.
Las familias post-confinamiento pueden estar 24 horas compartiendo en un mismo espacio ¿pero ha mejorado su comunicación familiar? ¿o, acaso se aísla cada uno en su propio entorno de intereses particulares escogidos por un bot de acuerdo con sus búsquedas, o por un empleador, por sus competencias laborales?, esto, con el agravante que ya no diferencian el tiempo del hogar del tiempo del trabajo, pues es uno solo, sin restricciones.
¿Para dónde vamos?
En definitiva, hoy, los desarrollos tecnológicos significan nuevas narrativas y discursos digitales distintos, caracterizados y permeados de esa ecología digital propia, que nos hace pertenecer a un nuevo estado hiperconectado en entornos comunicativos, si se quiere, más horizontales que los medios tradicionales, en los que el antiguo espectador, ahora no es solo un consumidor, sino que es un creador y recreador de contenido enriquecido.
Por ello, el nuevo reto de la comunicación digital es entender que la estrategia comunicativa, una actividad puramente humana, de interrelación entre humanos; debe ahora tener en cuenta que el escenario de relación se puede estar ampliando a lo transhumano (máquinas), que son ahora los ‘jueces’ que interpretan qué es lo relevante o no para el público: las herramientas se han igualado, lo importante, como siempre, en comunicación, es ver el strakeholder (grupo de interés) donde otros no lo ven e interrelacionarse con él, de manera en que perciba esa relación como una de gana-gana.
